Five-Star Matchups

Today is a day for the Centennial Conference to make noise on the national scene. CC squads take on the #1 ranked team in the country in men's and women's soccer and the #2 ranked team in volleyball and men's soccer.


Messiah at Dickinson (Men's Soccer)
The defending national champion Falcons, ranked #1 in Division III, travel to Carlisle to take on the #12 Red Devils (6-0). Dickinson is 4-9-1 against top 25 teams since 2002 with victories in each of the last three seasons. Nicolas Tierno (4 goals, 3 assists), the reigning Centennial offensive player of the week, and Thomas Parkinson (7 goals) lead the Dickinson offense, while GK James Van Meerbeke leads the defense. Johns Hopkins at Salisbury (Men's Soccer)
The Blue Jays (6-2) head to the Eastern Shore to take on the #2 Sea Gulls. Hopkins is 5-9-3 against top 25 opposition since 2002, registering its high-water mark with a 1-0 win over #6 Montclair State in 2003. JHU's Scott Bukoski leads the Centennial in goals (8) and points (16).

Gettysburg at Messiah (Women's Soccer)
The Bullets (4-1) travel to Grantham to face the top-ranked Falcons in their annual matchup. Gettysburg battled the defending national champions to a scoreless draw last season at the Battlefield and is 0-3-2 against Messiah since 2004. The Bullets have allowed just one goal through five games and GK Allie Rivera has a 93.3 save percentage.

Haverford at Juniata (Volleyball)
The #21 Fords (12-1) head west to take on the second-ranked Eagles, looking to avenge 3-0 sweeps in their last three meetings. Haverford is 4-1 against top 25 competition not named Juniata since 2006. The Fords have three of the top four hitters in the Conference in kills per set in Rebecca Salvo (3.67), Rachel Salvo (3.37) and Kelsey Cantwell (2.87).
