Five-Star Matchups

The games keep getting bigger and bigger as the weather turns cooler. Key games in field hockey, soccer and volleyball are on tap in Baltimore and Gettysburg.

Ursinus at Gettysburg (Field Hockey)
The fourth-ranked Bears (4-0, 6-2) and the 15th ranked Bullets (2-1, 7-2) square off at the Battlefield in what could be a playoff preview. Ursinus is 8-0 against Gettysburg since 2002. Look for a high-scoring affair, as UC leads the Conference in goals per game (6.25), while the Bullets are third in scoring offense (3.67).

Muhlenberg at Johns Hopkins (Men's Soccer)
It's always one of the premier games on the Conference schedule and 2008 is no different, as the Mules (2-1, 6-3) travel to the Charm City to take on the #23 Blue Jays (3-0, 9-2-1). It is the 25th meeting between the schools in a series that started in 1946 with JHU holding a 13-9-2 advantage, following wins in the last three matches. Muhlenberg has not defeated Hopkins in Baltimore since a 4-2 triumph in 1946 - a stretch of 10 appearances.

Haverford at Johns Hopkins (Volleyball)
The Fords (2-1, 14-4) and the Blue Jays (2-0, 14-4) meet in a potential playoff preview in Baltimore. Johns Hopkins leads the all-time series, 12-3, but Haverford has wins in the last two matches, including a five-set triumph at Homewood in 2006. The Jays (.231) and Fords (.218) are 1-2, respectively, in the CC in team hitting percentage. Haverford's Kate Comey is eighth in the country in assists (10.49), while Hopkins' Amanda Lewis averages 8.04.
