Five-Star Matchups

The first day of October means the start of the Major League Baseball playoffs and a number of key games on the Centennial schedule.

Gettysburg at Franklin & Marshall (Volleyball)
Two of the perennial powers in the Conference put their unbeaten Centennial records on the line at Mayser Center. The Bullets (2-0, 9-9) lead the all-time series with the Diplomats (2-0, 4-10), 32-11, but dropped the last meeting in Lancaster in 2005 in five games.

Gettysburg at Franklin & Marshall (Women's Soccer)
A match that will go a long way in determining playoff participation and seed takes place tonight in Lancaster, as the Bullets (2-0, 3-1-3) and the Diplomats (1-1, 5-2) meet for the 21st time in their series. Gettysburg holds a 16-4 all-time lead and has won six straight since a 2002 loss at F&M.

Johns Hopkins at Dickinson (Volleyball)
The other two CC unbeatens square off in Carlisle as the Blue Jays and the Red Devils meet for the 27th time. Hopkins holds a 21-5 series advantage and has won five straight (since 1993) at the Kline Center. JHU has three hitters in the Conference's top five in Adrienne Young, Alex Zenoff and Amanda Lewis.

Muhlenberg at Dickinson (Men's Soccer)
Two of the top teams in the Middle Atlantic region meet in a key match in Carlisle. The Mules (2-0, 6-2) are ranked sixth in the region and are fresh off a pair of shutout wins against Elizabethtown and Gettysburg. The Devils (1-1, 6-3) fell out of the national top 25 after losses to Messiah and Swarthmore but are still seventh in the region. It is the 44th meeting between 'Berg and Dickinson in a series that began in 1964 with the Mules holding a 30-10-3 advantage.
