Nancy and Becky and Mike and Jim

It's a huge night for women's basketball action in the Centennial Conference with two critical games. First-place McDaniel (18-2, 12-1 CC) takes its No. 24 national ranking into Goldfarb Gym to take on Johns Hopkins (12-7, 10-4). The Blue Jays handed the Green Terror its only CC loss of the season back on Dec. 6 in Westminster by a 66-60 count. Hopkins' Nancy Funk, the winningest coach in Centennial history, goes for her 500th career coaching win (499-252, 373-163 at JHU) tonight against the second-winningest coach - McDaniel's Becky Martin (383-244). The Blue Jays' last win over a ranked team came in 2004 against #20 McDaniel, 59-52. Gettysburg (13-8, 10-4) travels to Collegeville to take on Ursinus (13-8, 9-5) in a crucial game for both teams' playoff hopes. The Bullets can sweep the season series from the Bears and take a two-game lead (and the tie-breaker) over UC with three games to play with a victory. Two of the four male head coaches in the Conference - Gettysburg's Mike Kirkpatrick and Ursinus' Jim Buckley - meet tonight with Kirkpatrick holding a 6-3 advantage.
