A Full Saturday Slate

It is a busy Saturday across the Centennial Conference with key contests on the basketball court, in the swimming pool, and on the wrestling mat. Gettysburg and Muhlenberg play important roundball games with playoff implications at Bream Gym and Memorial Hall. Dickinson and Franklin & Marshall duel for first place in the pool in Lancaster, while Muhlenberg and Ursinus take on newcomers Kings Point and Stevens on the mat.

The Centennial Conference Basketball Network is live at Helfferich Hall in Collegeville for the F&M-Ursinus doubleheader. Follow all the day's hoop action via our Men's and Women's Gameday links. Keep everyone up-to-date on the latest scores by contributing to our "Score blog" like our hard-working SIDs. Hope you enjoy what promises to be an exciting day of Centennial competition.

What is the criteria for electing the player of the week and the other outstanding player? I appreciate the feedback Thanks

I noticed that the Centennial Conference reports players leading in assists however it seems meaningless at best without mentioning turnovers.

The Player of the Week selections are made from nominations from our member schools. There are a number of factors that go into the selection - how a team does on a given week ... how the player performs ... points, rebounds, assists, etc. ... shooting percentages ... we don't focus on just one aspect of a player's performance.

That may not have answered the question ... but a lot goes into the thought process.

In regards to the comment re: assists vs. turnovers ... we made the decision not to list every available statistic on our weekly reports during the 2005-06 year. More stats are available on the website, such as assist-turnover ratio ... offensive or defensive rebounds ... team 3-pt FG percentage ... etc. Thanks for the question.
