Former Ursinus baseball standouts Rich Barrett '01 and Kyle Goldwater '00 are keeping their big-league dreams alive by playing in the independent Atlantic League. Barrett, the 2001 Centennial Conference Player of the Year, is hitting .277 with a team-high 29 steals for the Camden Riversharks. Goldwater pitches for the Atlantic City Surf and has compiled a 6-6 record with a 4.52 ERA in a team-best 81 2/3 innings. He has the lowest ERA among regular Surf starters.
Both Barrett and Goldwater were selected to the Atlantic League All-Star game which is scheduled for Wednesday, July 13, at Sandcastle Stadium in Atlantic City. Read more on Goldwater from a May 3 edition of the News-Transcript.

Winterling is just 1-for-11 in four games, while Righter is 4-1 with a 3.44 ERA. He has started eight of his 23 games with 22 walks and 44 strikeouts in 68 innings of work.

Not baseball, but two-time Centennial Conference Men's Lacrosse Player of the Year and current Washington College assistant coach Stephen Berger is playing for the Long Island Lizards of Major League Lacrosse. Berger has seven goals, including a two-pointer, and two assists, through seven games this season.
